As a janitorial services provider within CCS Facility Services, the role of the Janitor is vital to maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of commercial establishments. A Janitor's primary duties involve cleaning various interior areas such as floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and furniture, including attending to spaces such as offices, hallways, lounges, elevators, and locker rooms. The position requires sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting furniture, disinfecting frequently touched surfaces like desks and door handles, as well as maintaining restrooms and replenishing supplies.

Additionally, the Janitor takes responsibility for inspecting and reporting any unsafe conditions, managing inventory of cleaning supplies, and adhering to safety and precautionary rules. The physical demands include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the responsibility to secure the work area by closing doors at shift end. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • good attendance and punctuality

  • basic reading and communication skills
  • prior experience in janitorial or cleaning services preferred
  • willingness to work flexible hours including nights
  • ability to maintain inventory records and report unsafe conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior janitorial or cleaning experience is an advantage
  • ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines

Job Duties

  • Clean interior of buildings including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, and walls
  • vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in various work areas such as offices, hallways, lounges, elevators, stairs, and locker rooms
  • clean stains from chairs and upholstered furniture
  • keep furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings free of dust
  • empty and clean trash cans and ashtrays
  • disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones
  • clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies as needed
  • wash and clean windows and mirrors
  • empty trash and recycling containers to disposal area
  • clean trash and snow from sidewalks if necessary
  • maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors
  • notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs
  • maintain cleaning charts indicating cleaned and inspected areas
  • follow safety and precaution rules
  • lift up to 50 pounds
  • close doors at end of night shift
