Job Description
Standard Bots is an innovative company at the forefront of the industrial robotics sector. Specializing in developing the next generation of industrial robots, Standard Bots focuses on creating hardware that combines power, affordability, and scalability. The company’s products are designed to revolutionize manufacturing processes by providing cutting-edge robotic solutions that streamline production, increase efficiency, and reduce costs. Located in Glen Cove, New York, the company operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility where these advanced robots are brought to life. This facility not only serves as the production hub but also as a place where operational excellence and workplace safety are paramount. Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized environment is foundational to the company’s mission to deliver top-quality products and sustain a productive workforce.
This job opportunity is for a full-time Manufacturing Facility Janitor located on the 2nd shift (evenings) at the Glen Cove manufacturing facility. As a Manufacturing Facility Janitor, you will play a central role in preserving the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of production floors, offices, and common areas throughout each shift. This role does far more than upkeep appearance; it directly impacts product quality, employee safety, and the overall impression that Standard Bots leaves on visitors and team members alike.
The janitor will be responsible for working closely with production teams on the floor, maintaining clear communication and coordination with line supervisors to avoid interruptions during active production. The role includes owning the cleaning route end-to-end, which requires addressing or escalating any hazards such as spills, clogged drains, or blocked emergency exits promptly and efficiently. Reporting to the Facilities Lead, you will ensure that cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and that all cleaning tasks comply with safety protocols and chemical handling guidelines.
Key responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing production floors; emptying and re-lining trash and recycling bins; wiping down common surfaces and non-active workbenches; restocking supplies in restrooms and break rooms; cleaning glass doors and windows; and ensuring walkways and safety equipment remain unobstructed. Additionally, you will monitor cleaning supply levels and maintain equipment cleanliness.
Standard Bots values attention to detail, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Physical stamina is essential since the role requires standing and walking for the majority of an 8-hour shift, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing step ladders, and pushing or pulling cleaning carts and equipment. Reliable transportation for evening shift hours is also necessary.
While prior experience in manufacturing or industrial facility cleaning, familiarity with OSHA safety standards, and operation of powered cleaning equipment are advantages, Standard Bots prioritizes candidates who are dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety in a dynamic production environment.
Compensation for this role ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, and employee stock options. By joining Standard Bots, employees become an integral part of a forward-thinking manufacturing team dedicated to advancing industrial robotics technology while fostering a clean and safe workplace environment.
