The role of a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services is an essential part of their operations, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas in various types of buildings. The Day Porter’s responsibilities are diverse and include tasks such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on lobby entrances, vacuuming elevator cabs, and wiping down surfaces multiple times a day. They inspect the building exterior for trash, clean ashtrays and sand urns on all floors, and ensure exterior trash receptacles are emptied and cleaned. Regular restroom checks twice daily and vacuuming of the lobby are standard parts of the job, as is sweeping stairwells and landings as needed.

Beyond these specific tasks, the Day Porter also helps maintain the aesthetics and safety of the property by removing debris from landscaped areas, sweeping building entrances, removing marks and smudges from walls and doors, and reporting any lighting issues or solicitors to the management office. Policing the lobby during high-traffic times to keep floors and planters free of debris, dust mopping lobby floors, and polishing elevator cab railings and call buttons are among the duties that ensure a polished and professional environment.
