Job Description

Jacks Monterey is a vibrant dining establishment known for providing an exceptional experience that combines quality food, welcoming ambiance, and genuine hospitality. Located in a lively area popular with locals and visitors alike, Jacks Monterey prides itself on creating memorable moments for every guest who walks through its doors. As a restaurant committed to excellence, it emphasizes a team-oriented environment where staff members are encouraged to cultivate their skills, contribute to a positive workplace culture, and deliver outstanding service. The restaurant operates with a focus on quality dishes, attentive service, and maintaining vibrant, clean surroundings to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Their dynamic and energetic environment calls for professionals who are passionate about hospitality and excellence in customer service.

The role of a Greeter at Jacks Monterey is pivotal in shaping the guest experience from the moment visitors arrive. The Greeter acts as the face of the restaurant, warmly welcoming guests and setting the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. Responsibilities include managing seating arrangements, coordinating with restaurant management to handle reservations and waitlists during busy periods, and ensuring guests are comfortable whether they are waiting, seated or departing. This position requires a friendly and approachable demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a bustling environment. Employees in this role must have knowledge of the restaurant’s seating plan, be able to update reservation systems accurately, and work closely with servers to maintain balanced seating distribution. They also handle phone inquiries promptly with professional etiquette.

Shifts for the Greeter position are typically scheduled from 3 PM to closing time, about three to four shifts per week, allowing for some flexibility while ensuring the restaurant’s front-of-house operations run smoothly during peak dining hours. Jacks Monterey is looking for individuals who thrive in fast-paced hospitality settings and who value teamwork and exceptional guest interaction. The restaurant also expects its Greeters to be knowledgeable about the menu, beverage options including wine, and current promotions to provide thorough and accurate information to guests. Furthermore, Greeters uphold the brand’s standards by addressing guest concerns promptly and courteously, ensuring any issues are escalated appropriately to management for resolution.

Working at Jacks Monterey provides an opportunity to develop valuable skills in customer service and hospitality within a well-regarded restaurant setting. The ideal candidate for this Greeter role is someone with a passion for hospitality, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well collaboratively with others. Experience in the restaurant or food service industry is preferred, along with relevant certifications such as ServSafe and alcohol management licenses. This role not only supports daily restaurant operations but plays a crucial part in maintaining the overall guest experience and satisfaction that Jacks Monterey is known for.
