Job Requirements
- Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum two years of directly related professional experience
- Ability to analyze and design local and wide area networks
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Effective communication skills
- Preferred industry certifications from technology vendors or credentialing organizations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- Two years of directly related professional experience
- Industry certifications from primary technology vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, Vmware, Citrix, EMC, IBM, or credentialing from vendors like CompTia preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with network protocol suites and communication media configuration
- Ability to work in a team environment and guide junior staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices
- Assists in the development of advanced technological ideas and guides their development into final products
- Advises Project Support Services team on all infrastructure related requirements
- Conducts routine monitoring of communications performance using diagnostic equipment and visual methods to locate problems
- Recommends and responds to user requests for system hardware and software upgrades and changes
- Provides maintenance support for systems such as electronic mail and other server systems
- Serves in an on-call rotation
- Supports and assists the technical work activities of Network Analyst I
