Job Description

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a distinguished private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system serving a broad 22-county region across North Florida and South Georgia. The IT Infrastructure Services department within TMH plays a vital role in maintaining and advancing the technological backbone of the healthcare system. The Network Analyst II position is integral in this effort, tasked with the complex responsibilities of managing and optimizing local and wide-area networks critical for delivering high-quality health services. This role involves detailed analysis, design, and evaluation of network systems—leveraging cutting-edge communication protocols and media configurations to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency across the organization.

The Network Analyst II also oversees performance monitoring and troubleshooting across network infrastructures, employing diagnostic tools and technologies to swiftly identify and resolve issues. They collaborate closely with project teams, providing expert guidance on infrastructure needs and driving the development of innovative technological solutions to improve healthcare delivery. Supporting user needs for hardware and software enhancements and system maintenance ensures that TMH’s IT framework remains resilient and capable of supporting the dynamic demands of modern medical care.

This position reports directly to the Director of IT Infrastructure Services and provides leadership in technical activities, mentoring and assisting Network Analyst I team members. With an expectation to participate in an on-call rotation, the Network Analyst II is a seasoned, proactive professional dedicated to sustaining TMH’s legacy of quality, compassionate healthcare through robust and advanced IT infrastructure management.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum two years of directly related professional experience
  • Ability to analyze and design local and wide area networks
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Effective communication skills
  • Preferred industry certifications from technology vendors or credentialing organizations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Two years of directly related professional experience
  • Industry certifications from primary technology vendors such as Cisco, Microsoft, Vmware, Citrix, EMC, IBM, or credentialing from vendors like CompTia preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with network protocol suites and communication media configuration
  • Ability to work in a team environment and guide junior staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites, and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices
  • Assists in the development of advanced technological ideas and guides their development into final products
  • Advises Project Support Services team on all infrastructure related requirements
  • Conducts routine monitoring of communications performance using diagnostic equipment and visual methods to locate problems
  • Recommends and responds to user requests for system hardware and software upgrades and changes
  • Provides maintenance support for systems such as electronic mail and other server systems
  • Serves in an on-call rotation
  • Supports and assists the technical work activities of Network Analyst I
