The role of Server Engineer at Health Center Inc. is critical to maintaining the technological backbone that supports its healthcare services. The Server Engineer is responsible for the deployment, management, and support of datacenter infrastructure including servers and storage, as well as cloud-based systems that are essential to the organization. This role requires a high level of expertise in hardware technologies, VMware virtualization platforms, Windows Server operating systems, scripting languages, network protocols, and security. The Server Engineer will work to ensure the infrastructure is robust, secure, and compliant with healthcare regulations, enabling uninterrupted healthcare services to customers, partners, and employees.
This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders including clients, internal partners, and other IT professionals to understand their needs and provide customized IT solutions. Job Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role
- bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- experience in healthcare operations to maintain clinical systems including electronic health records (EHR) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS)
- prior work experience in a healthcare technology or hospital setting preferred
- preferred certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or CompTIA Server+
- 3-5 years of experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware and Windows Server administration
- proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python
- experience with both Windows and Linux server operating systems
- ability to manage cloud platforms preferably Azure and M365
- experience with mail and backup solutions like Exchange Online, Rubrik, Mimecast
- experience with multi-factor authentication technologies such as Duo
- experience with CITRIX application services and Netscaler technologies
- experience with systems monitoring/alerting systems like PRTG
- experience with backup, replication and disaster recovery solutions such as Zerto
- understanding of server performance tuning and optimization
- experience in server configuration and maintenance
- ability to handle physical server setups and upgrades
- experience with automation tools and technologies such as Robotics process automation including PowerAutomate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere
- experience working with ticketing systems and ITSM solutions like ManageEngine

Job Duties
- Maintain secure, reliable and compliant IT operations for healthcare systems and patient care applications
- support infrastructure underpinning of Cerner EHR software and other clinical systems technologies
- collaborate with clients, partners and colleagues to understand their IT needs and challenges, providing expert advice and support for hardware, operating systems and tools for troubleshooting, and optimization of the systems
- install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software
- monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues
- perform regular security audits and apply necessary patching and updates
- develop and implement server policies and procedures
- ability to collaborate with network engineers and other IT staff
- assist with the management of server backups and disaster recovery plans
- analyze system logs and identify potential issues
- ensure server compliance with licensing and regulations
- create and maintain documentation and diagrams related to the infrastructure environment
- provide technical support and guidance to users and other staff
- plan and execute server upgrades and migrations
- ensure server availability, performance, and scalability
- implement and manage virtualization solutions, specifically VMWARE
- ability to build, configure and manage cloud-based server environments (Azure)
- conduct capacity planning and resource optimization
