The Operations Technology Services (OTS) team plays a crucial role within Amazon's business by providing nonstop global IT support to Amazon Operations. OTS enables seamless operational functions by supporting IT infrastructure, developing innovative in-house technology, and ensuring the smooth launch and maintenance of Amazon fulfillment centers worldwide. This IT support is vital to the success of Amazon’s supply chain, ensuring packages are delivered directly to customers with speed, accuracy, and exceptional service.

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled IT Support Engineer I to join our team in Waco, Texas. This full-time position offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $25.00 to $41.00 and includes comprehensive benefits from day one. As an IT Support Engineer I at Amazon, you will be responsible for implementing technical solutions and providing high-quality support for computer hardware, operating systems, and enterprise application software across multiple sites in a designated geographic area. Your expertise will help maintain and troubleshoot a variety of IT systems, ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.

The role requires a strong technical foundation, capable of troubleshooting issues that do not always follow standard operating procedures, enabling innovative problem-solving and adaptability. You'll be responsible for network engineering and troubleshooting, data cabling, and systems administration within diverse software and hardware environments. Ensuring the availability of infrastructure networking and computing systems during critical production hours is a key part of your daily responsibilities.

As part of your role, you will collaborate closely with both management and operational staff to provide analytical and technical assistance aimed at continuous IT solution improvements. Managing local technical projects and maintaining or creating IT policies, procedures, and processes will also be essential to your success. Identifying root causes of operational issues and inefficiencies will provide you with opportunities to drive enhancements that optimize the customer experience and streamline Amazon’s operations.

In this position, supporting customers from multiple local or remote locations within the region will be expected, including traveling within your area to provide direct support. This ensures rapid resolution of IT challenges, reinforcing Amazon’s commitment to high availability and exceptional service quality.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience with Windows Server technologies including AD, DFS, Print Services, SCCM
  • 2+ years experience troubleshooting in a multi-user high availability environment
  • 2+ years experience in PC repair, troubleshooting, deployment and liquidation
  • 1+ years experience in IT client, server, and network service delivery
  • 2+ years networking experience including DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP
  • 2+ years experience supporting corporate Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems
  • 2+ years experience supporting corporate network environment
  • physical ability to lift up to 49 pounds and perform physical tasks during shifts

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Windows Server technologies experience including AD, DFS, Print Services, SCCM
  • 2+ years of troubleshooting experience in a multi-user high availability environment
  • 2+ years of PC repair, deployment and liquidation experience
  • 1+ years of IT client, server, and network service delivery experience
  • 2+ years of networking experience such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, TCP/IP
  • 2+ years of supporting corporate Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems
  • 2+ years of supporting and maintaining a corporate network environment
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand or walk during 12-hour shifts, frequent pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching
