The role focuses on enhancing and supporting manufacturing application solutions such as Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other related production platforms. The position requires implementing and supporting these applications in manufacturing environments, working closely with vendors, project teams, plant personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operation and optimization of production systems. This includes providing Level 1 technical support for mission-critical manufacturing systems, sometimes requiring after-hours or weekend service to minimize production downtime. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing business and manufacturing processes to identify efficiency and productivity opportunities while developing functional and technical requirements to support ongoing operations and system enhancements. Troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues, coordinating resolution efforts with internal and external teams, and proactively monitoring system performance are essential duties. In addition to managing system administration and maintenance tasks, the role includes supporting PC and server infrastructure, backup and recovery administration, and collaborating with infrastructure and operations teams to implement system upgrades and changes. The candidate will participate in continuous improvement initiatives aligned with regional and global manufacturing systems and ensure thorough testing and validation of system functionality during upgrades or platform migrations. Effective communication and exceptional customer service skills are critical to maintain strong partnerships with plant personnel, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the support and implementation lifecycle. Additionally, the role involves following established change management procedures and working safely with maintenance teams on lift equipment and overhead work. This is a dynamic, impactful role within a world-class automotive supplier where technical expertise in manufacturing system support significantly contributes to operational excellence and innovation in smart manufacturing environments.
