The IT Architect II role at Christus Health is a vital position that supports the organization’s technological vision and infrastructure. This role is designed for an experienced IT professional who will be responsible for the design and implementation of comprehensive IT systems architecture, including system infrastructure, system security, application frameworks, and software and data lifecycle management. In this capacity, the IT Architect II drives the prioritization and integration of key technology enablers aligned with enterprise objectives. This includes the evaluation of system growth, service level requirements, and architecture flexibility to support both current and future business strategies. The role demands not only technical expertise but also strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills to translate complex technical requirements into practical, functional architectures that meet management and staff needs.

The IT Architect II will lead complex system design and implementation initiatives, overseeing technical teams and participating actively in vendor relationship management and technology research. This leadership role involves analyzing proposed system acquisitions, ensuring compatibility, cost-effectiveness, and resource optimization. It also entails developing proactive processes for data collection and system monitoring to maintain operational efficiency.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, the architect will develop standards and procedures that address all facets of information technology, from hardware and software to network protocols and security models. A deep understanding of healthcare hospital systems, including EMR, ERP, and CRM systems, is essential. The architect will be involved in planning and capacity forecasting to meet the growing demands of the enterprise while ensuring security and compliance with healthcare regulations.
