The Cook position at TravelCenters of America is integral to delivering an outstanding dining experience for guests visiting our travel centers. This role is designed for individuals who are enthusiastic about food preparation and customer service. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting quality meals that align with the company’s high standards and the varied tastes of our customers. This position requires working in a lively and supportive environment where team spirit and commitment to excellence are paramount.
In your role as a Cook, you will be expected to execute prep cook duties such as washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients, ensuring all food items meet safety and quality standards. You will manage grill cook responsibilities including setting up broilers, fryers, and grill stations in accordance with line check sheets, preparing products to guest specifications, and adhering to plate presentation guides. Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment is crucial; thus, you will practice safe food handling and storage, waste control procedures, and report any unsafe situations. Equipment maintenance and proper prioritization of tasks based on restaurant and guest needs are also key responsibilities.
