The Lawn Technician role at Bland Landscaping is a dynamic, hands-on position within Grounds Management focused on integrated pest management (IPM) functions, planning, administrative tasks, and regulatory compliance. This role involves maintaining high standards of safety and environmental stewardship while carrying out daily operational duties. The Lawn Technician will be responsible for chemical storage management, performing safe pesticide applications, and maintaining accurate application and site pest history records. Communication with management and clients is integral to this position, ensuring timely reporting of pest concerns and effective customer service. The role also requires flexibility in working various shifts, especially early mornings and evenings, to address public and property safety concerns effectively. Seasonal tasks such as flower installation and snow removal during winter months add variety to the role.

Successful candidates are expected to operate company vehicles safely, comply strictly with company policies, and motivate the landscape maintenance crews they may supervise. The position demands physical endurance to work outdoors under varying weather conditions and work collaboratively within a safety-focused team environment. Candidates will need to obtain North Carolina Pesticide Applicator licenses within 90 days of employment and demonstrate the ability to read and interpret pesticide labels properly. The Lawn Technician at Bland Landscaping can expect to earn a weekly salary ranging between $800 and $1020, alongside comprehensive health insurance coverage including vision and dental benefits, 80 hours of paid time off annually, and participation in a company-matched 401(k) retirement program. Job Requirements

ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis
ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis
ability to work outside in all weather conditions
ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns and other environmental risks
must be able to work with minimal supervision
must wear sturdy shoes, company uniforms, and assigned PPE
must present yourself in a professional, polite manner
must practice safety with chemicals and equipment
must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required
must have valid NC driver’s license and maintain a good driving record (CDL preferred)
must be able to pass a criminal background check
must be willing to obtain NC pesticide applicators license (Ground Applicator, Sub Class l turf and Ornamental) within 90 days of employment in this position
must be able to read and understand standard pesticide labeling and perform proper procedures for mixing
must have good communication skills and ability to motivate others
must comply with Bland’s policies and procedures

Job Duties
