Job Description
This opportunity is with a reputable healthcare organization specializing in hospital material management and supply chain operations. As part of a dynamic hospital environment, the company focuses heavily on maintaining efficient inventory processes and supporting various departments and vendor interactions to provide seamless operational support. The organization emphasizes the importance of accuracy in inventory control and works closely with clinical departments to ensure that materials and supplies are continuously available to meet patient care requirements. Employee adherence to healthcare regulations, confidentiality, and compliance with patient information protection are key priorities for the institution.
The Inventory Coordinator role is a critical position within the hospital's supply chain and material management team. This role centers on the integrity and accuracy of perpetual inventory systems and the management of inventory practices throughout the hospital. The coordinator will be responsible for establishing and maintaining control procedures for inventory transactions such as additions, deletions, and changes, leveraging specialized hospital systems like MMIS and PICIS for effectively tracking inventory moves and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical departments.
The position requires hands-on involvement with inventory cycle counts, reconciliation of stock shortages or surpluses, management of product recalls in collaboration with RASMAS, and ensuring proper data entry of stock movements and departmental credits. The Inventory Coordinator develops and implements supply chain procedures and supports special projects to improve inventory management workflows. This role demands a vital balance of technical aptitude, detailed organizational skills, and teamwork to maintain smooth product flow and ensure availability of necessary supplies.
Moreover, the role includes physical responsibilities such as frequent standing, walking, lifting, and other movements necessary for managing physical inventory in healthcare settings. The coordinator is also expected to build positive relationships with coworkers, vendors, and department users to support operational effectiveness. The organization encourages continuous learning and compliance with patient confidentiality policies under the UH Code of Conduct. This position is designed for candidates with a foundation in inventory control or hospital material management, who are proficient with inventory software systems, and who thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
