Job Description
US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, delivering a broad range of food and related products, equipment, and services to restaurants, healthcare and hospitality facilities, government operations, and educational institutions. Known for its extensive product portfolio and commitment to customer satisfaction, US Foods plays a pivotal role in the foodservice supply chain by providing innovative solutions tailored to meet the diverse needs of its clients. The company emphasizes quality, safety, and efficiency across all its operations, aiming to support the success of its customers and communities it serves across the nation.
This position is a vital role within US Foods' warehouse operations, specifically focused on inventory control management. As an Inventory Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to inventory accuracy, control procedures, and compliance within a production warehouse environment, which includes dry storage, cooler, and freezer areas. The role operates on a mid-shift schedule from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday, ensuring smooth operational flow during these hours.
The Inventory Control Supervisor is accountable for supervising one or more Inventory Control Clerks and ensuring that inventory records accurately reflect the physical stock. This includes investigating discrepancies, directing proper product rotation practices, managing outside storage coordination, and maintaining quality control processes. Additionally, the role involves managing recall processes and compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) plans, which are critical for food safety and regulatory adherence.
Key responsibilities include implementing and maintaining inventory policies and procedures, auditing receiving and stocking operations, and authorizing any inventory adjustments. This ensures that all inventory-related activities are conducted in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The supervisor also plays a crucial role in associate development by providing training and support on inventory policies and procedures, fostering effective communication across the team, and ensuring a cohesive work environment.
Candidates for this role should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for those holding an associate degree in management or marketing. A minimum of three years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, sales, and product knowledge is required to successfully manage the complexities of inventory processes within a distribution environment. Essential knowledge and skills include HACCP-compliant training, a strong understanding of inventory control and distribution processes, customer billing and credit procedures, basic computer literacy, excellent math abilities, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Compensation for this position ranges from $50,000 to $80,000 annually, depending on education, experience, skills, function, and geographic location. Benefits offered include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, disability coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance, supporting both the personal and professional well-being of employees. US Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and inclusion in its workforce.
