The Commissary Delivery Driver must work efficiently while complying with health, safety, and company policies. The role also involves vehicle inspection and collaboration with commissary and restaurant staff to resolve delivery challenges swiftly. Flexibility in working hours, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and occasionally afternoons or evenings, is essential to meet business needs and support special events. Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license and proof of personal insurance that meets company requirements to drive company vehicles
- Clear motor vehicle record (MVR) check
- Comply with company policies regarding safe driving practices and maintain a clean driving record
- Demonstrate ability to safely operate company vehicles including large vans and trucks
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods of up to 8+ hours
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting food items and supplies
- Ability to lift, carry, and transport items weighing up to 80 pounds
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for tasks essential to operations
- Comfortable maneuvering and carrying heavy trays safely
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to prepare food and load vehicles
- Strong hand-eye coordination
- Ability to navigate crowded or confined spaces quickly
- Comfortable working indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating temperatures
- Ability to maintain clear and professional communication during physical tasks
- Sharp hearing acuity for communication in loud environments
- Withstand exposure to food allergens including meats, fish, nuts, dairy, and oils
- Withstand exposure to cleaning chemicals
- Successful completion of company training program
- Onboarding and retraining required for re-hires with a lapse in employment of four months or more
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to safely operate delivery vehicles including large vans and trucks
- Strong ability to follow assigned delivery schedules ensuring timely deliveries
- Knowledge of proper food handling, storage, and transport procedures
- Ability to conduct daily vehicle inspections and identify maintenance needs
- Accurately complete delivery documentation including invoices and logs
- Ability to work effectively with commissary staff and restaurant managers
- Ability to load and unload products and manage physical demands of lifting
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle and ensure product safety
- Ability to resolve delivery-related issues efficiently and professionally
- Provide excellent service when interacting with restaurant staff
- Follow company safety, health standards, and delivery protocols
Job Duties
- Safely load, transport, and deliver commissary-prepared food items and meats to designated Bear's locations
- Follow assigned delivery schedules and ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time
- Maintain proper handling and storage of food items to ensure quality and compliance with health and safety standards
- Inspect delivery vehicles daily to ensure they are in safe working condition, reporting any maintenance needs to management
- Collaborate with commissary staff and location managers to address delivery needs and resolve any issues promptly
- Ensure delivery documentation is complete and accurate, including invoices, logs, and delivery confirmations
- Deliver items into designated areas of each restaurant and practice FIFO standards to ensure food quality and safety
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety during transport
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle to uphold company standards
- Responsible for loading and unloading of products as needed to streamline operations
- Assist with miscellaneous moving and cleaning projects as requested for all Bear's locations
- Bring vehicles for maintenance and inspection appointments as needed
