Job Description

Fisher Investments International is a prominent investment management firm specializing in servicing high-net-worth clients globally, with a focus on providing tailored, fiduciary investment services. Founded in 2009, the firm has cultivated a robust reputation for its specialized approach to managing private client portfolios, primarily emphasizing a fee-only structure that aligns the firm's compensation strictly with clients’ best interests. Operating without the need for commission-driven sales, Fisher Investments encourages a client-first philosophy designed to foster transparent and trustworthy relationships. The firm distinguishes itself through its clear separation of sales and client servicing roles, meaning employees can focus on their specific competencies without the typical multitasking often demanded in financial services roles. This structure allows financial professionals to excel in their focused responsibilities, providing superior service and expertise.

This career opportunity as an International Investment Counsellor is located in Camas, Washington, and targets CFA Level 1 holders or those with equivalent finance credentials currently residing in the United States who aspire to serve clients living in Canada. The role is centered on managing a roster of high-net-worth clients from Canada, facilitating their investment strategies by collaborating closely with internal portfolio decision-makers, research teams, client service associates, and an acclaimed sales division. As the key representative for Fisher Investments to Canadian clients, the International Investment Counsellor plays an essential role in establishing and nurturing client relationships based on trust and professionalism. Quarterly engagements involve reviewing asset allocations, discussing investment performance relative to long-term financial goals, and educating clients about the firm’s comprehensive, top-down portfolio strategy. The firm supports new hires by gradually building their client rosters through the efforts of the sales team, allowing the counsellor to focus on delivering excellent service and expert advice.

The selected candidate will benefit from Fisher Investments’ unique training program, which enhances their capital markets knowledge and understanding of the company’s distinct investment approach. Leadership support is offered through a group manager experienced in client relations and career development, ensuring personalized guidance. The position offers a competitive base salary between $90,000 and $140,000 annually, with eligibility for discretionary bonuses based on individual and firm performance. The commitment to work within a fee-only fiduciary framework offers peace of mind to both clients and employees regarding ethical and transparent dealings. Beyond compensation, Fisher Investments fosters an inclusive and development-focused working environment, boasting a Great Place to Work Certification and numerous employee benefits.

This in-office role may offer opportunities to participate in a hybrid work-from-home program depending on tenure, role, and performance. However, the primary requirement is presence at the Camas, WA office, ensuring close collaboration with the firm’s teams. Fisher Investments prides itself on its culture of learning, inclusive workplace, and offerings such as fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums, a substantial 401(k) match, generous paid time off, and family support programs. These programs include paid primary caregiver leave, fertility and family-forming assistance, and backup care for children, adults, and elders. As an equal opportunity employer, Fisher Investments commits to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
