The Utility Porter role at Graton Resort & Casino is a vital position dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and safety across all indoor and outdoor public areas, including building entries and parking lots. This role plays a key part in upholding the resort's luxury standards by ensuring that all guest and team member common areas are impeccably clean and inviting. The Utility Porter is responsible for performing deep cleaning tasks such as power washing, stain extraction, burnishing, waxing floors, and cleaning high dust areas like ceiling fixtures and fans. Utilizing specialized tools and heavy equipment, the porter works diligently to maintain walkways, parking structures, carpets, furniture, and fixtures.
This position requires a strong commitment to the company’s policies and procedures with a focus on safety and efficiency. The Utility Porter also addresses biohazard spills and contaminated areas following strict protocols to maintain a safe environment. The role calls for physical stamina and manual dexterity as it involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting items up to 50 pounds intermittently during the shift. Job Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in written and verbal form
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Interact with team members and guests in a friendly, positive, and courteous manner
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, kneel, climb stairs for extended periods
- Ability to tolerate chemicals, cleansers, and solvents
- Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment
- Ability to hear and communicate via telephone and radio
- Ability to push, pull, transport, and maneuver up to 50 pounds
- Ability to reach above shoulders intermittently
- Able to work in outdoor conditions with exposure to temperature changes and noise
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in written and verbal form
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Friendly, positive, and courteous interaction with others
- Age 21 or older
- Experience in hospitality or cleaning services preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
Job Duties
- Perform outdoor deep cleaning including power washing, sweeping, picking up trash
- Perform high dust cleaning including ceiling fixtures, ledges, and fans
- Conduct deep cleaning for flooring including stain extraction, burnishing, waxing
- Clean interior and exterior windows with deep cleaning protocols
- Operate tools and heavy equipment to maintain cleanliness of walkways, parking lots, carpets, furniture
- Clean biohazard spills and contaminated areas per protocols
- Reset furniture and equipment to company approved layouts after cleaning
