Job Description

Oakmont Management Group (OMG), headquartered in Irvine, California, is a distinguished leader in the senior living industry. The company manages a diverse portfolio of communities under the Oakmont Senior Living and Ivy Living brands, serving thousands of seniors across California, Nevada, and Hawaii. OMG is dedicated to fostering an atmosphere of family and community among team members, residents, and their families, emphasizing care, respect, and meaningful relationships as the foundation for a fulfilling life. The organization hand-selects its team members based on skills, relevant experience, and a genuine passion for working with the elderly, ensuring a supportive and compassionate environment. OMG’s culture blends joy and laughter with a commitment to excellence, pride of ownership, and superior service, making it a rewarding place to work and grow.

The Interim Traveling Executive Chef position is a pivotal role within Oakmont Management Group, responsible for maintaining culinary excellence throughout assigned senior living communities primarily located in Southern California. This assignment-based interim role requires extensive travel—up to 95% or more—to support culinary operations by providing interim coverage for Executive Chefs across multiple communities as operational needs arise. This position offers a unique opportunity to showcase leadership and culinary expertise in diverse settings while maintaining high service and food quality standards. The role involves leading recruiting efforts for culinary team members in both back of house (BOH) and front of house (FOH), ensuring an outstanding candidate experience, supporting chef testing, and driving culinary community operations including food production, menu execution, and service standards.

Candidates in this role will be expected to expertly manage all aspects traditionally handled by an Executive Chef, fostering a culture of culinary excellence within each community. Collaboration with marketing teams and involvement in onsite events are also key facets of this role, allowing for the enhancement of culinary services and community engagement. The position is temporary and assignment-based, meaning employment and compensation apply only during active assignments. However, it is designed as a pathway that will eventually lead to a permanent Executive Chef position within a community.

The salary range for this traveling interim position is between $80,000 and $85,000 annually during periods of active assignment. This role suits dynamic leaders who are flexible, adaptable, and passionate about delivering top-tier culinary experiences while managing complex operational and staffing demands. Travel will be frequent and assignments may vary in duration, requiring resilience and excellent time management skills. The Interim Traveling Executive Chef role is ideal for professionals seeking growth opportunities within a reputable senior living management organization committed to excellence and community values.
