The Interim Traveling Executive Chef position at OMG represents a unique and challenging role that is essential to maintaining culinary excellence across assigned communities in Southern California. This assignment-based interim role involves extensive travel—up to 95% or more—to various community locations based on operational needs and priorities. Flexibility and availability are key, as travel assignments may be of extended duration and can change frequently. Compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $85,000 annually during active assignments, with employment and pay contingent upon assignment periods.
As an Interim Traveling Executive Chef, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the culinary operations by providing interim coverage for Executive Chefs at different communities. You will lead culinary teams, manage food production, oversee menu execution, and uphold stringent service standards to ensure the highest quality dining experiences for seniors. Your responsibilities will also include leading recruiting efforts for both back of house and front of house culinary positions, coordinating and conducting interviews, and supporting chef skill testing to guarantee a positive candidate experience.
This role also involves executing onsite events and collaborating closely with marketing teams to elevate culinary services and community engagement. You will be expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the Executive Chef role as it relates to each community's culinary culture, fostering excellence and consistency across operations. Strong leadership and communication skills are vital to mentor team members, inspire culinary innovation, and maintain a positive workplace culture. Furthermore, familiarity with culinary software and ordering platforms will enhance your effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Working with OMG provides ample career development opportunities, including potential relocation and permanent placement as an Executive Chef in a community role after completing interim assignments. Eligible team members enjoy a competitive benefits package offering medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, company life insurance, 401(k) with matching contributions, and other supportive programs such as student loan refinancing and emergency financial assistance. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled culinary leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, values flexibility, and is passionate about enhancing the senior living experience through superior culinary service.
