Job Description

Oakmont Management Group, based in Irvine, California, is a distinguished leader in the senior living industry managing a diverse portfolio of communities under the Oakmont Senior Living and Ivy Living brands. With a commitment to serving thousands of seniors across California, Nevada, and Hawaii, Oakmont fosters an atmosphere of family and community among team members, residents, and their families. The company prioritizes meaningful relationships as the foundation of a rewarding life, employing passionate individuals with the right skills and experience to support the well-being of elderly residents. Oakmont's culture is defined by a blend of joy, laughter, and high expectations for service excellence, creating an environment that truly feels like home while maintaining pride of ownership and a deep commitment to quality care and hospitality.

The Interim Traveling Executive Chef role at Oakmont Management Group is a dynamic and pivotal position within the culinary operations across Southern California communities. This assignment-based interim role demands flexibility, adaptability, and extensive travel, with up to 95 percent or more travel required to support various communities. The role involves temporarily stepping into Executive Chef positions across different sites as needed, ensuring uninterrupted culinary leadership and operational excellence. It provides a unique opportunity for culinary professionals to demonstrate their skills in multi-site management, food production, menu execution, recruiting, and team leadership within a senior living context.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $85,000 and serves as a pathway toward securing a permanent community Executive Chef role. While assignments are offered based on operational needs and may vary in length and location, employment and compensation apply only during periods of active assignment. The Interim Traveling Executive Chef plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and consistency of culinary offerings by leading recruiting efforts for both back of house and front of house positions, ensuring candidates have a positive interview experience and supporting chef testing where necessary.

Additional responsibilities include overseeing culinary community operations focusing on food production, menu execution, and maintaining high service standards that uphold the excellent culinary culture unique to each community. The role also involves executing onsite culinary events, collaborating with marketing teams to enhance culinary services, and articulating a comprehensive understanding of all community aspects related to the Executive Chef position. Candidates in this role must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to mentor and train team members, fostering a positive workplace culture.

Oakmont offers robust opportunities for career growth, relocation, and travel within a respected senior living organization. Eligible team members benefit from medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off including vacation, personal, sick, and holidays, complimentary meals, life insurance, a team member discount program, 401(k) savings plan with company match, recognition programs, student loan refinancing, pet insurance, an employee assistance program, and emergency financial assistance. Oakmont Management Group is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, valuing diversity and inclusion across all its communities and roles.
