Job Description

This prestigious community hospital located in Southern California just southeast of downtown Los Angeles, represents a cornerstone of healthcare for the surrounding region. As a Joint Commission-accredited medical center with over 200 beds, this nonprofit hospital has proudly served its community for decades. The institution is renowned for its unwavering commitment to patient safety, holding an "A" Hospital Safety Grade which underscores its dedication to high standards of clinical care. The hospital provides extensive specialty services through a collaborative team of over 1,200 healthcare professionals, including more than 40 clinical specialties. Such a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach ensures that patients receive tailored and sophisticated treatment plans. This hospital is a pivotal healthcare resource for a growing and diverse population, balancing advanced medical technologies with community-focused care to enhance overall health outcomes.

The Interim Manager Operating Room Registered Nurse will play a pivotal leadership role within this dynamic healthcare environment. Reporting to senior nursing leadership, this position provides direct management and operational oversight across several critical perioperative service areas. These include Pre-Admission Testing, Pre-Op, Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, and Anesthesia services. The role demands hands-on leadership to guide and support a diverse team of perioperative nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesiologists, and physicians. This leader will engage in close collaboration with department directors and clinical educators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and clinical excellence.

In this fast-paced perioperative department, the Interim Manager will be responsible for maintaining smooth patient flow through multiple procedural areas, which accommodate a variety of surgical specialties. The role emphasizes both the importance of operational efficiency and the delivery of exceptional patient-centered care. By mentoring charge nurses and front-line staff, the Interim Manager ensures that the department meets and exceeds clinical quality and safety benchmarks. Coaching, staff development, and competency validation are key elements of this position, which also involves spearheading quality initiatives to promote evidence-based practices.

Administrative duties form an integral part of this role, including staffing and scheduling, regulatory compliance, and operational management to support consistent, safe, and effective surgical services. The Interim Manager Operating Room Registered Nurse must demonstrate previous experience in acute care perioperative leadership, possess a valid California Registered Nurse license, and have in-depth knowledge of surgical services. This is a unique interim assignment offering an opportunity to make an immediate and meaningful impact within a well-established perioperative program. Candidates who thrive in collaborative leadership roles and aim to contribute to a high-performing healthcare team will find this position highly rewarding.

Beyond the professional opportunities, Southern California provides an exceptional lifestyle for healthcare leaders. Residents enjoy close proximity to the vibrant cultural and entertainment hub of Los Angeles, coupled with the comforts of a welcoming community. The region offers beautiful parks, scenic trails, lakes for fishing and outdoor activities, excellent dining, and easy access to beaches and mountains. The area’s year-round sunshine and diverse recreational options make it an ideal setting for work-life balance and career growth.
