The role of Intake Coordinator at Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge is pivotal in ensuring a smooth, welcoming, and efficient entry for clients beginning their treatment journey. This position serves as the first point of contact for individuals entering the program following their application and referral process. The Intake Coordinator works closely with the admissions team to facilitate the intake and admissions process, ensuring that each client receives appropriate treatment in a timely manner. Responsibilities include greeting clients upon arrival, guiding them through necessary paperwork, facilitating telehealth connections for remote interactions, coordinating with medical services when needed, and continuously communicating with the admissions team to streamline client processing. The Intake Coordinator must possess strong interpersonal skills to create a client-focused experience, embody the organization’s culture of honor, and uphold core values such as compassion, hospitality, respect, integrity, servanthood, and trust. This role offers an opportunity to be deeply involved in the foundational stages of client care, helping to set a positive tone for their recovery experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • must be 21 years of age or older
  • at least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances
  • comfortable working with people with life-controlling challenges including mental health and addiction
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to live and work by MnTC’s culture of honor and core values
  • must be able to meet specific staff requirements outlined in Minnesota Statutes 245G.11 including understanding of client rights
  • ability to lift up to 10 pounds

Job Duties

  • Greet clients as they are entering a treatment program
  • create a client/customer focused experience for all clients seeking treatment services
  • facilitate the intake process to ensure appropriate treatment for all potential clients
  • assist clients with required paperwork during the intake and admissions process
  • ensure clients who are meeting with remote staff are placed on telehealth technology
  • walk clients back to medical services, if needed for ambulatory withdrawal
  • clearly communicate with admission team to ensure clients are moving through the intake and admissions process as quickly as possible
  • log into the admissions call que to answer calls between appointments
  • manage and screen all walk-in appointments
  • cover front desk, as needed
