Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teacher's certificate
- Five years of related experience preferred
- Proven ability to use technology for instructional improvement
- Experience with multimedia production software and hardware
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage and support diverse technology platforms
- Experience in adult learning facilitation and professional development
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university
- Master's degree preferred
- Valid Texas teacher's certificate at the appropriate level
- Five years of directly related experience preferred
- Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning in a setting working with various types of computer software, hardware and multimedia applications
- Knowledge of current computer creative and production software applications
- Ability to work with clients, teachers and students to translate content into multimedia products in formats including video, audio, graphics, digital animations, and HTML
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite applications, Adobe Professional Suite, and other web-based and social media applications
- Experience managing digital environments including hardware and software configurations on a variety of platforms and devices
- Strong knowledge and skills for designing engaging lessons using learning standards and research based instructional practices and strategies
- Demonstrated knowledge of the educational process gained through directly related experience
- Proficient in principles, methods, techniques, strategies, and trends in effective professional learning and instructional coaching, as well as leadership and facilitation of adult learning
Job Duties
- Model effective instructional strategies using technology in a co-teaching environment
- Effectively use and provide support for current district-provided technology and CTE content specific technology
- Coordinate with appropriate school personnel in use of various technology resources
- Use data to design technology-based instructional strategies
- Assess levels of teacher technology understanding, skills, and integration within the classroom
- Research use of newer technologies in instruction
- Explore web-based or other instructional technology resources
- Provide and offer support for pilot programs
- Develop and review instructional technology practices such as podcasts, blogs, Skype, apps, Google Classroom
- Recommend hardware, software, and related resources
- Facilitate or conduct technology-focused professional eLearning for school and district staff
- Provide follow up to teachers and administrators who participated in professional development
- Train licensed and classified staff in use of appropriate technology resources
- Maintain and update the Career Institute Technology website of resources for teachers, students and parents
- Utilize Twitter account to promote positive instructional technology practices and as a way to quickly provide resources
- Craft a quarterly instructional technology newsletter to convey updates, tips, and other newsworthy highlights
- Assist classroom teachers in selecting technology that best fits Texas Academic standards being taught
- Provide classroom management tips to use when utilizing technology within lessons
