Job Description

Zen Educate is a dynamic and innovative company dedicated to connecting schools with passionate, high-quality educators through a simple and transparent hiring process. Known for partnering with public and charter schools, Zen Educate facilitates the matching of educational professionals with roles that align closely with their skills, preferences, and career goals. The mission of Zen Educate centers on improving student outcomes by empowering educators with smarter matching, fairer pay, and ongoing support mechanisms. This approach not only helps schools find the right staff efficiently but also creates an enriching environment for both students and educators to thrive. Zen Educate emphasizes the importance of supporting special education initiatives, fostering inclusive learning environments, and promoting professional development for all educational staff.

In the role of Instructional Aide or Para Educator, you will be an essential part of the support team for students with special needs, specifically those with autism and behavioral challenges. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant, positive impact on the educational journey of K-12 students by providing individualized support and implementing behavioral strategies within the classroom. The Para Educator will work closely alongside classroom teachers to help implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring that students receive the tailored assistance they need. Responsibilities include providing one-on-one or small group support using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to encourage self-regulation, social-emotional development, and active engagement. The role demands a compassionate, patient attitude and a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere where every student can succeed.

The position is offered on a full-time basis for the 2026-2027 academic year with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20 to $23, paid on a weekly schedule. Working hours are Monday through Friday, typically from 7:30 am to 3:00 or 4:30 pm, without requiring weekend availability. Employees receive several benefits, including paid sick leave, weekly pay, 401K options subject to eligibility, and access to professional training and development sessions focused on special education and behavioral support. Early recruitment is encouraged, allowing new hires to complete onboarding before the academic year begins in August 2026, providing a smooth transition and the chance to develop skills and build relationships in advance. By joining Zen Educate as a Para Educator, you become part of a supportive network dedicated to inclusive education and meaningful student outcomes, paving the way for a rewarding career in special education support.
