Job Description
Front Range Community College (FRCC) is the largest community college in Colorado, serving close to 28,000 students annually across its three campuses along the Front Range. Recognized as one of the "Top Online Colleges" by Newsweek, FRCC is known for its commitment to educational excellence, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The college offers over 36 career training programs and provides pathways for approximately 5,000 students each year to transfer to four-year institutions. FRCC also supports high school students through concurrent enrollment classes that allow them to earn college credit tuition-free. As an emerging Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), FRCC strives to create an inclusive and equitable environment where all students and employees feel welcomed and supported. The college embraces collaboration, innovation, and pride as foundational values.
The Institutional Events Manager at FRCC is a full-time professional technical position based at either the Larimer or Westminster Campus in Colorado. The salary range for this role is $62,271 to $65,384 annually. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Events within the Office of the President, this role is pivotal in leading the detailed planning, coordination, and execution of institutional events across all three FRCC campuses, including Fort Collins and Westminster locations. This position demands a strategic and hands-on approach to managing events that impact the college’s reputation, community partnerships, and employee engagement. Key events managed by this role include FRCC dignitary events, campus festivals, fundraising activities, major ceremonies like Commencement, and collegewide employee training days.
The Manager will work closely with diverse internal teams such as Student Life, Information Technology, Foundation & Community Partnerships, Facilities, and Security to ensure smooth and successful events. They will also partner with external organizations, including the Colorado Community College System (CCCS) and community partners, to coordinate both on- and off-campus activities. Occasional travel among the three campuses is required, as well as some evening and weekend work to support various events and initiatives.
Essential skills for success in this role include effective communication tailored to diverse stakeholders, expert project and event management, critical thinking, decision-making, attention to detail, creativity, resourcefulness, and an agile mindset responsive to changing circumstances. The job includes responsibilities such as developing event timelines, managing logistics including catering and audiovisual needs, coordinating vendor contracts and payments, overseeing marketing and promotional materials, and ensuring events align with FRCC’s institutional priorities and branding. The Manager also monitors budgets, compiles post-event analyses, tracks key performance indicators, and supports continuous process improvements.
This position requires a Colorado residency upon hire and participation in the E-Verify program. The work environment combines standard office settings with frequent visits to event spaces, including occasional lifting and transporting of materials up to 20 pounds. FRCC's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is central to this role, as the college actively seeks staff who exemplify these values and who can foster equity-minded leadership and student success. The Institutional Events Manager will play a key part in creating welcoming, engaging event experiences that contribute directly to fostering community, collaboration, and institutional excellence at FRCC.
