The Installation Event Support Manager role is a full-time exempt position based in Colorado Springs, CO, specifically at the United States Air Force Academy. The compensation range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience. This role involves leading the planning, coordination, and execution of institutional events at the Air Force Academy. The manager will act as the primary liaison between multiple stakeholders, ensuring the successful integration and management of facilities, infrastructure, emergency response, logistics, utility support, and operational requirements for institutional events. This position demands a proactive, detail-oriented individual capable of working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities include representing the 10th Civil Engineer Squadron at event planning forums, coordinating civil engineering support requirements across departments, managing event logistics, and overseeing risk identification and conflict resolution related to event support activities. The role involves preparing executive-level briefings for senior leadership, building and maintaining relationships with military members, government civilians, and contractors. The manager is tasked with evaluating event plans for impacts on facilities, infrastructure, emergency response, environmental compliance, and recommending mitigation strategies. This position also requires leading site visits, readiness reviews, rehearsals, and after-action assessments to ensure all support needs are met and executable. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, and experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

Job Requirements
- A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access
- A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position
- May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties
- Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, walking, standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs
- Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, event management, public administration, project management, engineering, operations management, or a related field
- 3-5 years of event management or project management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and event planning software
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills and experience with stakeholder collaboration
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary representative for the 10th Civil Engineer Squadron at all institutional event planning forums
- Act as the central point of integration for all Civil Engineer support requirements associated with Academy institutional events, ensuring coordination across multiple departments
- Develop, coordinate, and synchronize event support requirements, ensuring all facility, infrastructure, emergency response, logistics, utility, and operational support actions are identified, assigned, tracked, and completed
- Serve as the single point of accountability/contact for monitoring event support activities, identifying risks, resolving conflicts
- Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, status updates to USAFA senior leaders, Group and Squadron leadership, and event planning teams
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with senior military members, government civilians, contractors
- Coordinate directly with event organizers and functional representatives across USAFA to ensure Civil Engineer support requirements are fully integrated into event execution plans
- Evaluate event plans for impacts to facilities, infrastructure, emergency response capabilities, force protection measures, environmental compliance, and mission operations, recommending mitigation strategies
- Lead site visits, planning meetings, rehearsals, readiness reviews, and after-action assessments to verify Civil Engineer support requirements are understood and executable
- Operate independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, exercising sound judgment and initiative while managing competing priorities and rapidly changing requirements
- Anticipate emerging issues, develop proactive solutions, and coordinate cross-functional responses to support successful execution of high-visibility Academy events and distinguished visitor engagements
