The Installation Event Support Manager role is a full-time, exempt position located at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. This important role is scheduled during regular day shifts and offers competitive compensation ranging from $80,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience. As the Installation Event Support Manager, you will lead the critical efforts to plan, coordinate, and execute institutional events at the Air Force Academy. You will serve as the crucial liaison managing the seamless integration of resources, stakeholders, and operations necessary to deliver successful events. Reporting to the 10th Civil Engineer Squadron, you will represent the squadron in all institutional event planning activities and ensure all civil engineering support requirements — spanning facility, infrastructure, emergency response, logistics, utility, and operational support — are efficiently coordinated and executed.
Your role involves close collaboration and communication with senior military leaders, government civilians, contractors, event organizers, and functional representatives across the Academy. You will evaluate event plans for their impact on mission-critical components such as facilities, force protection, environmental compliance, and emergency capabilities, and develop proactive mitigation strategies to address risks. The position demands a high level of accountability and initiative, requiring you to independently manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Through your leadership, you will conduct site visits, lead planning sessions, rehearsals, readiness reviews, and after-action assessments to ensure all civil engineering support aspects are understood and executable. In addition, you will prepare and deliver executive briefings and status updates to senior USAFA leadership and event planning teams. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high-visibility, mission-critical events supporting distinguished visitors and the Air Force Academy community, making a substantial impact through your expertise in event and project management.
