Job Description
Core Laboratories is a globally recognized leader in providing innovative solutions to the petroleum and petrochemical industries. Renowned for its commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, Core Laboratories operates a network of terminals, refineries, and laboratories worldwide, delivering critical inspection, testing, and analytical services that help clients optimize production and maintain the highest standards of operational integrity. As an industry leader, Core Laboratories ensures that its teams stay on the cutting edge of technology and industry best practices through rigorous training and adherence to global safety and procedural standards. The company fosters an inclusive work environment, supporting diversity and equitable employment opportunities across all levels of the organization. With a strong legacy of innovation and customer service excellence, Core Laboratories continues to uphold its reputation by empowering employees to contribute meaningfully to the energy sector's sustainability and success.
The role of Inspector I at Core Laboratories plays a vital part in maintaining safety and operational standards within petroleum and petrochemical terminals, refineries, and on marine vessels such as barges and ships. This position involves conducting thorough inspections following the industry standards and procedures specified by API and Saybolt. As an Inspector I, you would be responsible for performing visual cleanliness inspections of storage tanks, including entering confined spaces, verifying the accuracy of measurement equipment, and executing product measurements and sampling with precision. The role demands a high level of responsibility and attention to detail, ensuring all tasks comply with established safety and quality protocols, including those outlined in Core Laboratories' and Saybolt's company policies. Working safely in hazardous environments defined by Material Safety Data Sheets is a critical part of the job.
This position also requires inspectors to carry out their duties independently while efficiently managing communication and collaboration with various stakeholders. Inspectors must complete and submit all required reports and forms clearly and promptly, perform inventory checks, and may be tasked with non-petroleum or chemical inspection assignments. Inspectors are expected to comply with relevant safety training, including right-to-know training, hazardous materials transportation, and other regulatory requirements. Additionally, there are opportunities for cross-training in both basic and advanced laboratory procedures, which supports career growth and skill enhancement. Practical responsibilities include maintaining a vehicle suitable for job duties, upholding valid driver’s licenses, and insurance in accordance with state regulations, and accepting local travel and occasional out-of-town assignments. The physical demands and work environment reflect the need for an individual who can efficiently perform in settings exposed to potentially hazardous substances while wearing necessary personal protective equipment. This is a full-time position that aligns with Core Laboratories’ dedication to fostering professional growth, safety, and operational excellence within the energy industry.
