The role demanding attention and precision centers on the Quality Control Department's inspection function. The hired candidate will be primarily involved in product conformity assurance, ensuring that all parts and final products meet the stringent specifications and quality standards set forth. This position offers a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with some possible negotiation around these working hours to accommodate needs. Successful fulfillment of this role requires familiarity with various hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges. More broadly, the role involves conducting detailed inspection and testing for initial pieces, in-process items, and finished products. Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of appropriate technical training including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • At least 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in a close tolerance machining job shop preferred
  • Experience with hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges
  • Ability to use coordinate measuring machines
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and inspection specifications
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to perform detailed inspections and maintain accurate records

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of appropriate technical training including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • At least 2 years of first piece and in-process mechanical inspection experience preferred
  • Ability to utilize manufacturing software systems
  • Knowledge and experience with surface plate inspection and coordinate measuring machines

  • Ability to work from blueprints, inspection specifications, and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and precision measurement skills

Job Duties

  • Conduct first piece and in-process inspection
  • Conduct final inspection and testing on a variety of parts and products
  • Perform standard surface plate and coordinate measuring machine inspection
  • Create and maintain inspection plans
  • Use precision measuring instruments and make precision inspection set-ups
  • Conduct random audits to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Train new employees on equipment and inspection procedures
  • Perform receiving inspection and testing of vendor parts and materials
  • Assist in reviewing calibration status of inspection equipment
  • Update and maintain daily inspection logs
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition

  • Keep Quality Supervisor informed of job related problems
