Job Description
Insomniac is a leading producer of some of the world's most innovative and immersive music festivals and events, specializing in dance culture and live entertainment. Established in 1993 by Pasquale Rotella and based in Los Angeles, Insomniac has grown into a global phenomenon that captivates millions of fans each year. Operating across 13 countries on five continents, Insomniac is known for its state-of-the-art lighting, pyrotechnics, sound design, large-scale art installations, theatrical performances, and next-generation special effects that together create unique and unforgettable fan experiences. The company's flagship event, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, is the largest dance music festival globally, attracting over 525,000 attendees across three days.
As a company, Insomniac prioritizes delivering a high-quality experience to headliners and fans alike, continually striving to innovate within the live event space. They produce more than 10,000 concerts, club nights, and festivals annually, serving an international audience of approximately seven million attendees. With a commitment to inclusivity and diversity, Insomniac fosters a workplace culture that supports equal employment opportunities and embraces a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives.
The Production Runner role is a vital part of the Back of House Department at Insomniac, aimed at providing proactive and hands-on support during live event productions. As a Production Runner, you will report directly to the Back of House Manager and be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of logistics and support tasks throughout show days. This is an on-site role that requires physical presence and active participation in the event environment.
Duties in this role include transportation logistics such as shuttling personnel between hotels, airports, and venues using either personal or company vehicles, running errands like coordinating meals, grocery shopping, handling equipment rentals, and managing deliveries. You will also be responsible for administrative tasks including cash handling, receipt reconciliation, and posting signs, all while maintaining strict confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the workload. The role demands excellent multitasking abilities in a fast-paced setting, coupled with reliability, professionalism, and courteous interaction with touring staff and production teams.
In addition to daily tasks, the Production Runner supports larger special projects and contributes to trouble-shooting needs during live event productions. The work environment can be loud, busy, and sometimes subject to harsh weather conditions, requiring a flexible and resilient approach. Evening and weekend work hours are standard to meet event schedules.
Insomniac offers competitive hourly compensation in the range of $16.00 to $20.00 per hour, with the typical pay for this position being approximately $16.90 hourly. They provide an inclusive, engaging work atmosphere that encourages professional growth, hands-on learning, and active involvement with a dynamic team passionate about music and live events. If you love dance music culture, enjoy running logistical tasks efficiently, and thrive in energetic environments, this role with Insomniac represents a unique opportunity to join one of the most exciting entertainment companies in the world.
