The role of Inside Tank Installer at Baker Commodities involves the safe and effective installation and repair of indoor and outdoor automated waste oil equipment. This full-time position primarily operates during the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm. The Inside Tank Installer will be responsible for various duties including installing and repairing indoor and outdoor tanks, maintaining and cleaning caddy units, working on filter machines, and performing necessary pumping of tanks and grease lines to units. The role requires working with low voltage wiring and rebuilding equipment with training provided. The installer must be mechanically inclined and proficient with tools supplied on the job. This position requires an individual who can take clear instructions from management and work independently while traveling to customer locations to service equipment. Maintaining a professional and ethical manner when interacting with others and adhering to company and departmental procedures is essential for success in this role. Regular attendance and punctuality are critical as they support the smooth operation of the company. The role may also include various shop duties, such as cleaning the work area, setting up for upcoming installations, and restocking service trucks with necessary materials. This position plays a key part in ensuring efficient service delivery and operational success across Baker Commodities’ service network. The Inside Tank Installer must be adaptable to the changing needs of the business and capable of performing additional duties as assigned to support business goals and growth.

Job Requirements

  • Requires valid driver license with acceptable MVR and medical card
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing
  • Operate and maintain cable machines in a safe manner
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to complete written reporting of routes sheets for billing
  • Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, overnights and on call shifts
  • Local travel requirements
  • Less than 5% overnight travel

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing
  • Ability to complete written reporting of route sheets for billing
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Experience with low voltage wiring or electrical systems preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and on call when needed
  • Valid driver license with acceptable motor vehicle record and medical card

Job Duties

  • First shift - M-F 7 am- 3:30 pm
  • Install and repair indoor and outdoor tanks (BC-012)
  • Repair and clean caddy units and work on filter machines
  • Pump tanks and grease lines to units
  • Wire units (low voltage)
  • Shop duties, rebuild equipment, clean area up, set up for next install, and restock trucks with material needed in van for service
  • Rebuild equipment (training provided)
  • Work with tools supplied and be mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to take instructions from manager and work on your own
  • Travel to customer locations and service equipment
  • Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
  • Follow department and company procedures
  • Keep up regular attendance and punctuality
  • Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business
