The Information Technology/Assurance (IT/IA) Specialist III role focuses on providing specialized support for Special Access Programs (SAPs) within Department of Defense agencies including HQ Air Force, the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments. This position is vital in supporting sensitive security classified activities such as Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP projects. The Specialist III is responsible for day-to-day operational support including system configuration, cybersecurity monitoring, network management, and compliance with security authorizations applicable to classified programs. The role involves maintaining complex software configurations, managing file servers, firewalls, and security monitoring systems, while troubleshooting system anomalies to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, the Specialist III coordinates cybersecurity efforts for self-inspections, reviews technical cybersecurity documentation, and implements security countermeasures to address vulnerabilities.

This role requires significant expertise in managing and maintaining classified information systems and network appliances in accordance with strict security policies and regulatory frameworks. The position also entails administrative tasks such as Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) system management, account administration across multiple authorization boundaries, and government-issued laptop support. The successful candidate must be proficient in system patching, hardware/software upgrades, and COMSEC account management. The employment type is full-time with a competitive salary ranging between $108,630 and $146,970, determined by experience, location, and contract requirements.
