With a workforce of over 26,000 experts, GDIT harnesses the power of advanced technology to deliver innovative solutions directly supporting critical missions at the forefront of AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development. Operating in more than 50 countries worldwide, GDIT offers unparalleled mission-ready capabilities that help keep the nation secure and technologically advanced.
This particular opportunity is for a Cyber and IT Risk Management role based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It requires an onsite presence and candidates must hold or be able to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a polygraph. The position focuses on providing essential day-to-day support for Special Access Programs (SAPs), including collateral and sensitive compartmented information activities within Department of Defense (DoD) agencies such as the Headquarters Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The role involves working within complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces to support classified environments and ensure secure and reliable information system operations.
Key responsibilities include maintaining file servers, firewalls, security monitoring systems, network access, and documentation necessary to keep mission-critical systems functioning optimally. The role also involves analyzing and troubleshooting system anomalies, preparing systems for operational use, and supporting operational tests to maintain system integrity. Additionally, candidates will contribute to reviewing and updating authorization packages for information systems, notifying customers of changes impacting accreditation, and conducting cybersecurity self-inspections. Their expertise will be crucial for vulnerability identification, countermeasure implementation, and ensuring compliance with stringent security policies.
The candidate will also be responsible for performing video teleconferencing system administration, providing external client support, managing user accounts across multiple authorization boundaries, and handling help desk and hardware/software system configuration activities. This position demands a proactive approach to patching systems and network appliances and managing government-issued laptops and communications security (COMSEC) equipment and accountability.
Applicants should possess at least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in system or network administration roles, with desired experience in Special Access Programs. A bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience is required, along with certifications such as IAT Level I or IAM Level I within six months of hire (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+). The role requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012 R2), Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows 7/10 operating systems, LAN/WAN technologies, risk management frameworks, and security policies aligned with Department of Defense standards.
The salary range for this position ranges from $82,195 to $111,205 depending on experience, location, and other factors. This role includes a comprehensive identity verification process utilizing biometrics and artificial intelligence to ensure candidate authenticity and prevent fraud.
Joining GDIT means becoming part of a distinctly innovative environment that values technical excellence and the critical importance of securing and supporting national defense operations. The role offers significant career growth potential supporting cybersecurity and IT risk management at the highest levels of government infrastructure and classified program management.
