Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is a global technology and professional services company renowned for delivering cutting-edge technology solutions and mission-critical services to every major agency within the U.S. government, defense, and intelligence community. Operating in over 50 countries worldwide, GDIT leverages the power of technology and innovation to create immediate value for its clients, specializing in key areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and software development. With a workforce exceeding 26,000 experts, the company is committed to offering mission-ready capabilities and fostering an innovative culture that drives success across diverse federal missions. GDIT is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming individuals with disabilities and protected veterans, and emphasizes a secure and authentic hiring process enhanced by advanced biometrics and AI technology.

The role being offered is that of an Information Technology and Information Assurance Specialist, requiring a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with eligibility for a CI Polygraph. Based in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Albuquerque, New Mexico, this position is fully onsite and falls under the Cyber and IT Risk Management category. The salary range is estimated between $89,250 and $120,750, subject to experience, geographic location, and contractual factors.

In this critical role, the successful candidate will support Special Access Programs (SAPs) and Department of Defense agencies such as HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). The responsibility includes providing daily operational support to Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information, and SAP activities, ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive defense operations. The specialist will manage complex software configurations, maintain critical network components including firewalls and file servers, troubleshoot system issues, and oversee system authorizations and cybersecurity inspections. This demanding 24/7 role includes shift work and may require weekend and holiday coverage.

Key responsibilities encompass a wide spectrum of technical and cybersecurity functions, from the review and update of authorization packages to the administration of Video-Teleconferencing (VTC) systems and government-issued laptop support. The incumbent will handle account management activities across multiple security boundaries, support help desk functions, apply patches and system upgrades, and manage COMSEC accounts and equipment. The job demands familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server environments, Local and Wide Area Network technologies, Risk Management Frameworks, and system security policies. Physical requirements include the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Applicants must possess at least two years of relevant experience, preferably in system or network administration with security-related duties. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with certifications such as IAT Level I or IAM Level I is essential, and prior experience with Special Access Programs is highly desirable. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, given the sensitive nature of the work and clearance requirements.

Joining GDIT offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on national defense through advanced IT and cybersecurity operations. Candidates will be part of a forward-thinking team that safeguards critical information systems and supports the security needs of the nation’s most sensitive programs.
