This job opening is for the position of Information Receptionist at Womack Army Medical Center. As an Information Receptionist, you will receive and handle inquiries ranging from routine questions to in-depth requests concerning the mission, functions, organizational structure, staffing, medical terminology, physical layout, and offsite locations of the medical center. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $38,020 to $49,429 per year, classified under the GS-4 pay scale with no promotion potential.

The successful candidate will perform critical duties such as providing paging and emergency notification services, maintaining the WAMC staff roster, and managing databases related to communication devices like beepers and assigned numbers. This role requires a fully qualified typist with excellent communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support the center's operational needs. The Information Receptionist must be prepared to respond effectively during emergency situations, reflecting the position's Mission Essential designation.

Job Duties

  • Receives customers and calls to Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) and ascertains the nature of the visitor call
  • Provides paging and emergency notification services for Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC)
  • Answers inquiries based on knowledge of the mission, functions, organizational structures, staffing, medical terminology, physical layout and offsite locations of WAMC
  • Maintains WAMC staff roster of both civilians and military
  • Maintains database of beepers and assigned numbers, coordinates with staff requiring changes or additions, makes appropriate changes, updates when necessary, and produces reports of new changes
