Job Description

Job Requirements
- You must be a U.S. citizen or national
- Successful completion of a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication including fingerprint, credit, tax checks, and drug testing
- Registration for Selective Service if applicable
- Completion of a one year probationary period if selected
- Meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute
- Willingness to undergo background investigation
- No current or recent political appointments without disclosure
Job Qualifications
- One full year of general experience equivalent to the GS-4 level performing clerical or administrative duties in support of office operations
- Successfully completed two years of education above the high school level
- Combination of post high school education and experience that meets 100 percent of the qualification requirements
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Receiving incoming telephone calls and visitors entering the office to provide necessary information and establish contacts with appropriate departments
- Responding to internal and external inquiries, providing general information regarding office programs
- Receiving, reviewing, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
- Coordinating with office staff to ensure coverage of daily operations
- Monitoring and maintaining miscellaneous data files
- Maintaining adequate levels of mailing and shipping supplies
- Providing pedestrian courier services to deliver and retrieve documents and other case-related material between federal agencies
- Assisting with other administrative functions as assigned by the supervisor
