The role of the Information and Guest Services Representative is crucial within Hackensack Meridian Health’s Medical Center. This position is responsible for providing outstanding customer service by welcoming and assisting all visitors to the facility. Representatives promptly respond to requests for visitor passes, offer accurate directions to various departments and services, and maintain the professional appearance and environment of the lobby areas. The job requires a friendly, courteous, and helpful demeanor to handle guest relations effectively, even in stressful situations, ensuring each visitor feels valued and supported.
In this role, you will serve as a vital link between visitors and the Medical Center’s complex services, offering clear and precise information to improve the guest experience. The position includes duties such as issuing visitor passes in accordance with hospital policies, assisting with vendor registrations, guiding conference participants, and enforcing access control policies to ensure the safety and security of the facility. You will also manage communications between various hospital departments to maintain lobby cleanliness and orderliness, demonstrating your organizational skills and attention to detail.
Beyond routine duties, the Information and Guest Services Representative acts as a problem solver and advocate for guests, addressing concerns with professionalism and compassion. Strong communication skills, computer proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite, and the ability to remain poised during emergencies are essential. The position is ideal for candidates with previous front desk or hospitality experience and those who are bilingual, particularly in English and Spanish. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or GED equivalent programs
- One to two years relevant working experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
- Experience in front desk or hospitality roles preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Welcome guests to the Medical Center using courteous and professional communication
- Respond to requests for visitor passes and distribute passes in accordance with visitor policy
- Provide accurate directions to Medical Center services and facilities
- Answer telephone inquiries within three rings using established greetings and take accurate messages
- Enforce access control policies by advising guests of visiting rules and notifying Security of violations
- Resolve guest complaints using positive problem-solving techniques and refer complex issues to appropriate departments
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of lobby areas including coordinating with Environmental Services
