The DuPage County Health Department’s Quality and Compliance team is seeking an experienced Infection Preventionist for a full-time role based at 111 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, IL. This position offers an annual salary range between $60,300 and $68,300. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a hybrid work arrangement option, blending onsite engagement with remote work flexibility.

As an Infection Preventionist, you will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the department’s infection prevention and control (IPC) program. You will be tasked with interpreting complex federal, state, and local regulations along with accreditation standards to create, revise, and enforce IPC policies, procedures, and protocols. Your responsibilities include managing the agency’s infection control efforts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and promoting best practices to mitigate infection risks across clinical programs and other settings.

This pivotal role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal and regulatory changes affecting infection prevention practices and the capability to develop and execute compliance strategies effectively. You will conduct internal audits, provide expert consultation, education, and training to staff, and facilitate continuous quality improvement initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to licensing and accreditation processes as well as emergency response activities.
