The role available is for an Associate Teacher within the Early Head Start/Head Start program. This is a vital position that directly contributes to nurturing young children's development by implementing a developmentally appropriate and inclusive curriculum. The position is hourly with a competitive pay scale based on education and experience, ranging from $22 to $29 per hour, with additional compensation for those with relevant Infant and Toddler units. As an Associate Teacher, you will work under direct supervision to plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities that support the holistic growth of children in the program. This role involves hands-on teaching, primary caregiving, and ensuring children’s safety and well-being. The educator role extends beyond the classroom to meaningful engagement with families through parent conferences, home visits, and parent education programs focused on prenatal health and child development. Experience in teaching within a preschool or infant/toddler setting is essential, particularly with a minimum of 50 days teaching infants or toddlers for 3 or more hours per day within the past two years. The Associate Teacher must also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and demonstrate excellent communication skills to work effectively with children, families, colleagues, and volunteers.
