Job Description
McGough is a prominent and respected construction partner with a rich legacy that spans six generations. Known for its deep-rooted expertise, McGough specializes in handling high-profile, unique, and complex construction projects across various sectors. Their commitment to excellence is reflected by the extraordinary knowledge and skills of their workforce, who excel in all facets of construction including planning, development, construction execution, and facility management. The company prides itself on maintaining long employee tenure, which showcases a strong culture of commitment, pride, and ownership in their work. This dedication to quality and professionalism has made McGough a trusted name within the construction industry, recognized for delivering exceptional results on time and within budget.
The role of Industrial Scheduler at McGough is a critical position that supports the successful delivery of industrial construction projects. The Industrial Scheduler is tasked with maintaining and managing detailed project schedules, utilizing advanced scheduling methodologies such as critical path method (CPM) scheduling and the Last Planner System. These tools enable McGough to closely track and control project progress. The scheduler plays a key role in developing baseline schedules based on comprehensive analysis of project drawings, specifications, and construction documentation. Furthermore, the Industrial Scheduler collaborates closely with project managers, operations teams, subcontractors, owners, and senior leaders, building strong relationships to ensure coordinated effort and transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
This position requires expertise in construction scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6, allowing the scheduler to develop detailed timelines, assess manpower and cost loading of schedules, and perform analyses such as Time Impact Analysis to understand and mitigate project delays. The role also involves active participation in Lean construction events and collaborating with the Last Planner team to gather and update weekly work plans. The Industrial Scheduler helps develop "what if" scenarios to explore scheduling alternatives and optimize project sequencing, contributing to risk management and problem-solving efforts.
Qualified candidates for this role typically have experience during the construction phase of project lifecycles and familiarity working as part of a design-build contractor. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem resolution, and the ability to interface effectively with multiple stakeholders are essential. The company values candidates who bring at least one year of industrial construction experience along with knowledge of Lean construction practices and proficiency in project scheduling software.
McGough offers a competitive base salary range of $90,000 to $120,000 for this position, reflecting factors such as geography, skills, and experience. This role comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, retirement plans, voluntary benefits, parental leave, paid time off, and holiday pay, underscoring McGough's commitment to supporting the wellbeing and growth of their employees.
This opportunity offers candidates minimal travel requirements, with occasional visits to project sites nationwide. The role is physically demanding in terms of sitting for extended periods and requires occasional site visits that may expose employees to challenging environmental conditions. Nevertheless, applicants who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and who are passionate about driving project success through meticulous scheduling and collaborative teamwork will find this role rewarding and impactful.
