The Maintenance Technician Lead role at Stericycle within the WM family is an essential position responsible for executing all maintenance functions necessary to keep the plant facilities and equipment running optimally and safely. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday starting at 2:00 PM, including emergency and breakdown call responses. Working under the direction of facility leadership, the Maintenance Technician Lead performs preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on buildings, grounds, plant machinery, and equipment critical to the company’s operations.
In this role, the Maintenance Technician Lead ensures that all tasks are performed in strict compliance with company procedures and industry safety standards such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space, Fall Protection, and Electrical Safety. Responsibilities cover maintenance and repair of sophisticated machinery, including autoclave systems, PLC and robotic controls, air pollution control devices, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fire tube boilers, water treatment equipment, conveyor systems, and electrical generator sets.
In addition to technical maintenance duties, the role requires light to heavy fabrication skills such as welding (arc, MIG, TIG), acetylene torch use, plasma cutting, and grinding. The Maintenance Technician Lead also assists the Facility/Maintenance Manager to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility and supports the company’s unwavering commitment to safety culture. Documentation of completed work orders using computerized systems is critical to track maintenance activities and priorities effectively.
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least four years of relevant experience and training in industrial plant maintenance, along with a high school diploma or equivalent. Physical demands and occupational risks are integral to the role, with provisions for reasonable accommodations to support individuals with disabilities. The pay range for this role is $26 to $31 per hour depending on experience, plus overtime opportunities.
