The company values skilled tradespeople who bring expertise, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to maintaining and improving plant equipment essential to their manufacturing process.
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic role is a crucial position within the facility, charged with ensuring the reliability and proper functioning of all plant mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This role involves diagnosing issues, making repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and installing new equipment to support production needs. The position offers an hourly wage of $34.45 with a structured sign-on bonus program, providing $1,000 after the first 30 days, $500 after 6 months, and $500 after 1 year of service, which shows the company's dedication to rewarding commitment and longevity.
Work schedules for this position include a full-time hourly commitment with shifting hours. During the training period, shifts run from 7am to 3pm with rotating weekends off. After training, shifts rotate between 3pm to 11pm, and 11pm to 7am, Monday through Sunday, depending on production needs. This setup requires flexibility and adaptability from candidates ready to integrate into a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The role demands a deep understanding of mechanical prints, AC/DC motors, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams, welding (both arc and gas), fabrication, lubrication, preventive and predictive maintenance. Candidates will need to operate various hand and power tools including drill presses and lathes, and perform adjustments that improve productivity and equipment performance. Diagnosing unusual equipment sounds, dismantling machinery for repairs, and maintaining conveyor systems, presses, and stackers are part of daily responsibilities.
The ideal candidate for this job will bring at least five years of manufacturing experience and a working knowledge of measurement equipment such as dial calipers and heat-sensing guns. A strong mechanical aptitude is required for identifying degrees of part wear and making necessary repairs or replacements safely. Teamwork, reliability, a positive attitude, safety consciousness, and dedication are highly valued, alongside the ability to work flexible hours and various shifts based on business needs.
In addition to hands-on mechanical skills, candidates must be proficient in using computers for SAP software to handle work orders, notifications, part requisitions, and time entry. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is expected to actively participate in meetings, training sessions, and safety programs to uphold the facility’s strict safety standards. Basic tool possession is mandatory.
Finally, applicants must successfully pass the standardized Industrial Paper pre-employment testing required for all maintenance roles, ensuring they meet the rigorous capabilities required for this challenging and rewarding job.
