Headquartered in the Northwest, TMF specializes in delivering complex and high-quality steel fabrication services for major civil infrastructure, hydroelectric, oil and gas, marine, and custom industrial projects throughout the West Coast and beyond. The company operates with a strong commitment to craftsmanship, safety, and precise execution, ensuring every project is completed accurately and efficiently. TMF is proud to be a signatory to SMART Local 16 and IUPAT Local 10, operating as an American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) certified facility. This certification underscores their dedication to upholding industry standards and delivering unsurpassed quality in steel fabrication.
Working at Thompson Metal Fab means joining a team of experienced tradespeople who are dedicated to producing technically demanding and meaningful projects. Employees at TMF enjoy competitive wages, robust benefits, and the opportunity for long-term career growth within an established and respected company. The corporate culture emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and fostering positive work relationships both internally and with clients. The company actively supports career development and maintaining a highly skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
The role at Thompson Metal Fab is focused on industrial painting and sandblasting, requiring candidates with substantial experience in these areas to maintain and enhance the quality and longevity of fabricated steel structures. The position demands a meticulous approach to painting practices, ability to develop job setups with minimal supervision, and strict adherence to safety policies and environmental regulations. Employees in this role are expected to conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on their equipment, report any safety issues, accidents, or damages immediately, and maintain clear communication with supervisors, clients, and coworkers to ensure project quality and customer satisfaction.
This full-time position offers a pay rate of $36.17 per hour and is based on-site, reflecting the hands-on nature of the work. A successful candidate will be someone who can work in physically demanding environments requiring standing, kneeling, crouching, and climbing, while also managing exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, odors, and noise associated with industrial settings. Thompson Metal Fab prioritizes workplace safety, requiring all employees to use protective gear, including ear, eye, and foot protection, along with hardhats in shop areas. The company also maintains an equal opportunity employment policy and offers necessary accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the application and hiring process.
Overall, this role is ideal for professionals who have a strong background in industrial blasting and painting, want to contribute to significant industrial projects, and seek employment with a company known for its industry leadership, safety standards, and employee benefits.
