As a division of Matthews International, Matthews Memorialization is committed to supporting customers in growing their businesses and assisting families in transitioning from grieving to remembrance. This is achieved through innovative, high-quality memorial products and services that honor memories and celebrate lives. Their Environmental Solutions line focuses on the design and manufacture of advanced cremation and incineration systems that adhere to some of the world's most demanding performance and environmental standards. Established as a global industry leader, Matthews Environmental Solutions supports customers worldwide with innovative, reliable solutions that emphasize environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
We are currently looking for an Industrial Field Service Specialist to join our growing team based in Texas, US, supporting national and international clients. This role is tailored for experienced crematory service technicians with strong skills in refractory, mechanical, electrical, and programmable logic controllers (PLC) systems. The Industrial Field Service Specialist will be instrumental in installing, repairing, rebuilding, and commissioning cremation and incineration equipment. Highly hands-on and technically focused, this position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge combustion technology and contribute meaningfully to environmental sustainability. Technicians in this role will also act as the face of Matthews Environmental Solutions, engaging directly with clients, leading jobsite activities, and providing expert training to operators and technicians.
The compensation package includes an hourly base pay ranging between $25 and $43, with total compensation accounting for hourly rates, overtime, and per diem allowances. There is a clear career advancement path supported through six technician levels, enabling long-term growth and professional development within the company. Weekly travel of up to five days is required, with the benefit of being home on weekends for work-life balance. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package effective from day one, including medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA). Employees also enjoy earned time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) program with company matching, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, and educational assistance opportunities. Additionally, dependent scholarship opportunities are available, highlighting the company’s commitment to employee and family well-being.
This role demands strong technical and troubleshooting skills, especially for working with refractory materials, electrical and mechanical systems, and PLC control panel modifications. Candidates should be comfortable lifting heavy equipment regularly and working in diverse industrial environments with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and other challenging conditions. Matthews Memorialization is dedicated to equal employment opportunity and provides reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. Joining Matthews means becoming part of a reputable global organization focused on innovation, quality, and inclusiveness in serving customers and communities worldwide.
