Job Description

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is a premier hospitality company known for creating unforgettable vacation experiences. They operate America’s Largest Indoor Waterpark and feature African-inspired resorts that provide guests with world-class dining, luxurious spas, thrilling entertainment, and modern convention centers. As a family-owned business, Kalahari is deeply committed to their core value of "Lead with Love," which emphasizes caring for guests, associates, and communities alike. The company fosters a culture of family, generosity, and belonging where every individual feels valued. In addition to their hospitality offerings, Kalahari is dedicated to social responsibility, partnering with charity water to deliver clean water to one million people in Africa. This commitment reflects Kalahari’s broader focus on giving back and making a positive impact beyond their resort walls.

The facility is hiring for the position of Indoor Beverage General Manager, a leadership role with a salary range of $60,000 to $70,000 and eligibility for a 10% bonus. This role is pivotal in overseeing multiple indoor beverage outlets and driving operational and financial success in these venues. The Indoor Beverage General Manager is responsible for increasing beverage sales, managing inventory and labor costs, leading a team of beverage staff, and maintaining high standards of service to ensure exceptional guest experiences. The venues under this role’s leadership include the main lobby bar, Baobab Social, the outdoor entertainment venue Amatuli, Redd’s Piano Bar, and Shari’s Daiquiri, which together account for around 20% of the property’s total beverage revenue.

This position reports directly to the resort’s Beverage Director and works closely with corporate and property-level leadership, including the Corporate Beverage Director and the Property Food and Beverage Director. Unlike roles focused on beverage menu development, this position prioritizes operational excellence, financial results, and team leadership. The Indoor Beverage General Manager leads by example, embodying Kalahari’s Promise to Lead with Love by supporting and inspiring associates and fostering a positive work environment. They ensure that guests receive high-quality and friendly service, that operations run efficiently, and that financial goals across the beverage outlets are met or exceeded. Candidates must have flexible availability to cover late nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the fast-paced, guest-centric nature of the hospitality industry.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a highly respected and award-winning organization known for its innovation, career growth potential, and commitment to employee well-being. Kalahari’s commitment to promoting from within and providing comprehensive benefits makes it an attractive employer for those seeking a rewarding management career in hospitality. The company’s reputation for being a top workplace, recognized by Forbes and USA TODAY, underscores its dedication to cultivating a positive and thriving work environment. Serving as Indoor Beverage General Manager at Kalahari means becoming an integral part of a team that values leadership based on love, respect, and excellence, all while creating lasting memories for guests at one of America’s leading resort destinations.
