The Individual Giving Officer position is a critical role within the Resource Development team, charged with developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with individual donors and prospects. This role focuses on increasing philanthropic support through strategic cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement activities. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Resource Development, the Individual Giving Officer collaborates closely with staff, leadership, board members, and volunteers to meet giving goals and enhance donor commitment. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization’s funding and sustainability by managing a portfolio of donors capable of providing annual, leadership, and major gifts.
The successful candidate will employ moves management strategies to deepen donor engagement, develop personalized donor plans, and conduct outreach through various channels including meetings, calls, emails, and events. Accurate record-keeping within the CRM system is essential to track donor interactions and gift activity. The role also involves partnering with fundraising colleagues to coordinate stewardship efforts, recognition programs, and special events. Representing the organization at community events and donor meetings ensures a visible and personable presence in philanthropic circles.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of successful experience in individual or major gift fundraising, with demonstrated results in relationship-based giving. Familiarity with CRM data management, especially Raiser’s Edge, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are vital. The position requires a motivated, organized professional who can work both independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail. Occasional work during evenings and weekends is expected to support donor engagement activities, reflecting the role’s dynamic nature and commitment to advancing the organization’s mission.

- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
- Flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to contribute to both strategic planning and day-to-day execution
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Job Duties
- Identify, qualify, and manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospective donors with the capacity and inclination to make meaningful and aspirational gifts
- Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospective donors, utilizing moves management strategies to deepen engagement and increase giving
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors capable of making annual, leadership, and major gifts
- Develop and implement personalized donor engagement plans aligned with donors' interests and organizational priorities
- Conduct donor outreach through meetings, calls, emails, events, and mission-centered experiences
- Prepare and deliver compelling gift proposals and solicitations, with a focus on securing meaningful philanthropic investments
- Maintain accurate and timely records of donor interactions, action plans, gift activity, and relationship progress within the CRM system
- Partner with Resource Development colleagues to coordinate donor stewardship activities, recognition opportunities, and special events
- Collaborate with board members, volunteer leaders, and senior staff to support donor cultivation and solicitation efforts
- Assist in the planning and execution of annual giving and donor engagement initiatives
- Ensure a high-quality donor experience by providing responsive, thoughtful stewardship and ongoing communication
- Coordinate with the Fundraising Database Specialist to ensure accurate gift processing, documentation, and reporting
- Represent the organization at community events, donor meetings, and engagement activities as needed
