Job Description
OCCU, the Oregon Community Credit Union, is a member-owned financial cooperative based in Eugene, Oregon. With a clear and compelling vision to Enrich Lives, OCCU differentiates itself by fostering a strong culture rooted in tenacity, humility, and big-heartedness. The credit union is deeply committed to creating a meaningful social impact in the communities it serves while providing exceptional financial products and services to its members. Through collaboration and a member-first approach, OCCU strives to be a trusted financial partner, empowering individuals and families across the region to achieve their financial goals and improve their quality of life.
OCCU is currently seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Indirect Lending Business Development Officer (BDO) to join its team remotely, serving members and dealership partners throughout California. This position specifically targets candidates who reside in California, with an emphasis on Northern, Central, or Southern California to enable efficient travel and maintain close local market knowledge. The role offers an attractive salary range from $96,824 to $128,365 annually, commensurate with experience and regional location.
This high-visibility role is ideally suited for professionals who thrive in dynamic dealership environments and possess a deep understanding of automotive sales and financing. As the Indirect Lending Business Development Officer, you will be the primary representative of OCCU at partner dealerships, tasked with cultivating strong dealer relationships, expanding the dealer network, and driving indirect lending volumes. The position requires proactive engagement with dealership leadership and sales teams to promote OCCU’s indirect lending products and ensure alignment with credit union standards and compliance regulations.
The role demands frequent travel across California, sometimes including evenings and weekends, making it well-suited for independent, self-motivated individuals who excel at managing multiple priorities and communicating effectively with internal teams. The BDO will be an integral part of OCCU’s strategy to increase dealer penetration and loan growth, combining outreach, education, and collaboration to deliver outstanding service to both dealer partners and members.
Key responsibilities include leading dealer visits, training dealership personnel on OCCU programs and procedures, liaising effectively between dealers and underwriting teams, monitoring competitor activities, and promptly resolving member and dealer concerns. This role requires a high degree of professionalism, sound judgment under pressure, and an ability to navigate compliance challenges confidently. By fostering loyal and productive dealer partnerships, the Indirect Lending Business Development Officer plays a crucial role in advancing OCCU’s mission to enrich lives through financial empowerment and community-focused service. The position offers the chance to join a respected credit union that values integrity, community involvement, and member success, supported by a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote work-life balance and professional development.
