Job Description
Vina VIK is a distinguished and internationally recognized luxury winery based in Chile, celebrated for its ambitious winemaking, stunning architectural estate, and premium positioning within the wine industry. The winery produces a portfolio of exceptional wines including VIK, Milla Cala, La Piu Belle, Omega, Stone VIK, and other estate-driven labels from the Millahue Valley. Positioned strategically for fine dining establishments, independent retail outlets, premium regional chains, luxury hospitality venues, and high-end wine programs, Vina VIK is committed to delivering quality and excellence to its discerning clientele. The company represents the pinnacle of Chilean winemaking, combining tradition with innovation to produce wines that stand out for their character, elegance, and complexity. As a growing entity in the luxury wine market, Vina VIK is continuously expanding its presence in key regions, including the Eastern United States, to bring its premium portfolio to a broader audience.
The role of Independent Wine Broker for the Eastern US with Vina VIK is a 1099 contract position that operates on a 100% commission basis, making it ideal for a seasoned, self-motivated professional with established relationships in the wine market. This role requires proactive efforts to increase depletions by representing Vina VIK's luxury wine portfolio as an overlay within the region. The Independent Wine Broker will be responsible for opening and developing new business across important on-premise and off-premise accounts. Such accounts include fine dining restaurants, luxury hotels, private clubs, independent retailers, and premium retail groups. The broker must leverage existing relationships with distributors, sommeliers, wine buyers, and retailers to grow the Vina VIK brand effectively.
This position suits candidates who are already active in the market and currently represent complementary wineries or portfolios. The ideal candidate will have credibility with premium buyers, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to work independently without extensive supervision. Responsibilities encompass conducting account visits, staff training sessions, tastings, and market engagement activities that foster brand awareness and sales growth. The broker will also support distributor engagement and provide timely follow-up to ensure the success of promotional efforts. Regular updates on account activities, opportunities, and market feedback are essential to maintain alignment with Vina VIK’s commercial objectives.
Candidates applying for this role must demonstrate strong organizational skills, professionalism, and excellent communication abilities. Their knowledge of the local wine market and relationships within it will be critical to driving success in this commission-based structure. Compensation is fully commission-based, with earnings directly tied to sales performance and account development, reflecting the contractor’s initiative and effectiveness in expanding the brand’s footprint within the Eastern US market. Vina VIK offers a unique opportunity for independent brokers to associate with a prestigious luxury wine portfolio from Chile, enhancing their existing offerings and reputation in the premium wine industry.
