Job Description
Vina VIK is a premier luxury winery based in Chile, globally recognized for its innovative winemaking techniques, striking architectural estate, and strong premium market positioning. The company specializes in producing high-end wines from the Millahue Valley, including its flagship labels such as VIK, Milla Cala, La Piu Belle, Omega, and Stone VIK. Vina VIK has cultivated a reputation for creating wines that appeal to discerning clientele in premium dining establishments, independent retail shops, luxury hospitality venues, and upscale wine programs. These wines not only represent Chile's finest viticultural craftsmanship but also emphasize a unique combination of quality and exclusivity that appeals to connoisseurs and premium wine buyers worldwide.
The role offered is that of an Independent Wine Broker focused on the Western US region, operating under a 1099 contract structure and compensated entirely on a commission basis. This position is ideal for an experienced, self-directed broker with established relationships and credibility within the premium wine market, including sommeliers, wine buyers, retailers, and distributors. The broker will act as an overlay representative for the Vina VIK portfolio, tasked with increasing sales and distribution through existing and new accounts across key on-premise and off-premise channels. Since the compensation is commission-based, candidates should be motivated by an entrepreneurial approach to business growth and able to manage their activities with minimal supervision.
The selected candidate will leverage their existing market knowledge and network to open doors and grow Vina VIK’s presence effectively. Key responsibilities include conducting account visits, delivering staff training and tastings, supporting distributor engagement, and identifying high-value opportunities in restaurants, hotels, private clubs, and premium retail groups. The role requires regular reporting on sales activities and market feedback, allowing the company to monitor progress and align efforts with commercial objectives.
Successful candidates will have current engagement with other premium winery or beverage portfolios and will bring strong trade relationships along with a deep understanding of the wine industry dynamics in the Western US. This position demands strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a commercial mindset to build long-term momentum and capitalize on market opportunities. Because Vina VIK’s wines are positioned at the luxury end of the spectrum, credibility and influence with premium buyers are essential to excel in this role.
As an independent contractor, the broker will negotiate their commission structure with Vina VIK based on sales performance and account development milestones. This structure rewards initiative and results, making it a suitable opportunity for entrepreneurial professionals seeking to represent a high-profile, distinctive Chilean wine portfolio. This position is categorized under Sales and Marketing, reflecting the direct role the broker will play in promoting and expanding the Vina VIK brand in a competitive market.
