Job Description

Freedom Square of Seminole is an upscale senior living community located in the picturesque setting of Seminole, Florida. Designed to resemble a quaint town square complete with paved brick streets and a welcoming gazebo, this 15-acre campus offers residents a beautiful and serene environment just a short drive from Lake Seminole and the pristine Gulf Coast beaches. As a life care community, Freedom Square of Seminole provides a seamless transition for residents as their healthcare needs evolve. This includes moving from independent living to assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing care, all within the same supportive community. The emphasis at Freedom Square is on quality care and an enriching lifestyle that supports the well-being of each resident.

The role available at Freedom Square of Seminole is a key leadership position within their expert culinary team. This position requires a dynamic and experienced culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Culinary Services Department at Freedom Square encompasses a multi-unit operation, necessitating a skilled culinarian who can adapt quickly and effectively. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within a community that highly values quality, care, and teamwork.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef to plan, cost, and execute all menus, ensuring that every meal served meets the high standards of the community. When the Executive Chef is absent, this individual will take full responsibility for directing the entire culinary department. Maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and service standards of the culinary facilities is critical, with strict adherence to or surpassing Health Department regulations. This includes managing routine cleaning schedules and overseeing operational excellence on all levels.

In addition to hands-on culinary responsibilities, the role requires strong leadership and communication skills. The individual will regularly inform the culinary leadership team about ongoing activities and any operational challenges. They will be expected to propose thoughtful and practical solutions to enhance the quality and efficiency of the culinary services. This position not only demands culinary expertise but also the ability to lead a team towards achieving operational goals and maintaining a high level of resident satisfaction.

Freedom Square of Seminole fosters a workplace culture that is caring, inclusive, and focused on employee wellbeing. Employees enjoy monthly luncheons, campus-wide events, and work in clean, well-maintained facilities. The community features low-acuity resident populations and favorable staffing ratios that contribute to a positive and manageable work environment. To support new staff members, Freedom Square offers a $2,500 bonus to help get started in this meaningful role.

Full-time employees benefit from comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as 401K retirement plans. The company provides paid time off, paid holidays, career advancement opportunities, and paid training programs. An innovative Daily.Pay program allows employees to access their earned wages on-demand, enhancing financial flexibility. Additionally, there is a resident scholarship fund reflecting the community’s commitment to education and growth. This role promises to be rewarding both personally and professionally within an organization that genuinely values its team members and the important work they do.
