Job Description
Fulflld is a dynamic and innovative company operating as a scheduled meal marketplace across multiple major markets in the United States, including New York/New Jersey, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, and California. The company specializes in connecting home cooks with hungry customers through a robust food pickup and delivery service network facilitated by independent contractors. Fulflld's mission is to provide flexible earning opportunities for self-employed drivers equipped with SUVs or vans, ensuring efficient and reliable food pickup and delivery services that support local culinary entrepreneurs and satisfy customer demand. As a player in the gig economy, Fulflld offers an entrepreneurial platform where drivers can select their preferred types of routes and enjoy transparent, competitive compensation structures. This model empowers contractors to manage their schedules while contributing to a unique food service ecosystem that values sustainability through reusable container collections and supply distributions.
The role of an independent contractor at Fulflld primarily involves two types of routes: food pickups and deliveries. Food pickups entail collecting prepared meals from home cooks either by directly visiting their homes or by meeting them at designated outpost locations. Contractors also manage the distribution of reusable supplies to home cooks during pickups, aligning with the company’s commitment to sustainability. Once collected, these orders are transported to a local hub for sorting. Delivery routes, on the other hand, involve transporting the sorted orders from the hub to customers, following a predefined route sequence. Drivers must capture clear proof-of-delivery photos showing the order and address details to ensure accountability and customer satisfaction. In select markets, contractors are also tasked with collecting reusable containers and supplies from customers, further supporting Fulflld’s eco-friendly initiatives.
Market-specific operations include door-to-door pickups in New York/New Jersey, starting early in the morning with a typical duration of 2-3 hours covering multiple stops, along with middle-mile transfer routes between New York and New Jersey. In markets like Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, and the Bay Area, pickups happen at outposts, where contractors wait for home cooks to drop off orders within a specified time frame. Deliveries are offered in Seattle and Chicago only. The company provides routes one day in advance through a dedicated driver app to facilitate scheduling and route management, promoting transparency and predictability for contractors. Waiting times during pickups are compensated hourly, recognizing the importance of contractor time, and delivery routes pay per completed drop plus mileage to reward efficiency.
Fulflld emphasizes punctuality, attention to detail, and reliability, requiring drivers to start routes on time and capture accurate delivery documentation. Contractors must maintain vehicles in good condition with adequate cargo space and possess an EZ tag or similar toll pass to manage toll expenses efficiently. Compensation is competitive, with weekly payment issuance and additional bonuses for reusable container collections and supply drop-offs in designated markets such as New York/New Jersey. This opportunity suits independent contractors seeking predictable, recurring routes with a clear pay structure who value flexible work arrangements and long-term engagement. Many drivers continue with Fulflld long-term due to the consistency of available work and the comprehensive support provided by the company.
